REGISTERED MANAGER: Anne Mayhew (Registered Manger)

Anne's background is nursing. She is a qualified RGN (1974.) Having spent many years as a district nurse. For last ten years has been involved with management of community staff. Anne is a board member of a local hospital and takes interest in health legislation. Anne has been on a panel and involved with protection of vulnerable adults, ensuring well being and safety of vulnerable adults. She is a mentor for staff carrying out NVQ in care. Anne is a firm believer in treating clients with respect, dignity, and treating them as she would wish a member of her close family to be treated i.e. With the HIGHEST STANDARDS.

THE DIRECTORS:

Alex van Ootmerssen (Managing Director)

Alex is originally from South Africa and a founder member of Sisco (SA) and Managing Director of Sisco Merchandising UK a successful promotional and below the line advertising agency. He works closely with major clients in the U.K. business scene and has a sound knowledge of business. He is also is a great believer in fair business procedures and value for money. Alex became interested in the care industry after seeing the devastation caused when his own father contracted Altzheimers disease and the need for a high standard of care within the community. Alex believes that by opening SmartCare he will be offering a valuable quality service to the community, one which he would have been happy employing to care for his own father.

Jan van Ootmerssen (Company Secretary) (Responsible Individual)

Jan brings 20 years of accounting and company administration to the table. As Company Secretary of Sisco Merchandising since it's inception in the UK in March 1999, she has been in charge of all aspects of bookkeeping which includes creditors, debtors, payroll, ordering, invoicing and cash book. Jan has worked a considerable amount of time as a volunteer working with children in need. Jan considers herself to be a fair, understanding and compassionate person when dealing with people in all walks of life.

Fiona Cole ( Business Operations Director)

Fiona comes from a Social Services background having worked from the ground up as a social worker to a NHS Counsellor. Fiona has over 25 years experience in the caring industry working as: a carer, care manager, CSCI Inspector, and since set up a number of care agencies. Fiona is now dedicated to making Smart Care the Best care agency and care service provider in the south east.

John Cole (Technical Director)

John has over 25 years in systems support, analysis and development. John comes from an Business background and IT systems consultancy. John has worked in many industries including the care industry, where he designed and developed a Care Management and Billing System to aid care agency daily operations. John has further developed a Quality Assurance system specifically for the Home care sector.

RANGE OF QUALIFICATIONS OF CARE WORKERS:

Smart Care Limited care staff possess a range of experience in the care of older people and people with a learning and/or physical disability in both residential and home care settings.

All staff undergo an induction programme over a 3 day period. After this induction and carer shadowing (Minimum 2 weeks) and the probationary period of two month monitoring, all staff undertake a training needs analysis, which is then incorporated into their training and development plan. This will include POVA training. (Protection Of Vunerable Adults).

Fifty percent of the staff will have achieved the NVQ Level 2/3 in care and specific qualifications in relation to caring for people with a learning disability. Smart Care Limited encourages and assists staff to obtain formal qualifications.

Training focuses on aspects of care and safety and supports formal training. All staff have an annual appraisal of their overall standard of performance, training and development needs. All care workers will receive one-to-one supervision at three monthly intervals. Regular Team meetings and in-house training are to be provided.
